An inspiring and versatile musician, Aaron Breid is rapidly garnering acclaim as an operatic and symphonic conductor. In the last five years, Breid has stepped-in to conduct more than a dozen performances of Turandot, Carmen, Il trovatoreGianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Così fan tutte, and The Ballad of Baby Doe with Minnesota Opera, Central City Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, Opera Omaha, and Virginia Opera.

In the 2018/2019 season, Breid served as Cover Conductor for Washington National Opera productions of Gounod’s Faust, Kevin Puts’ Silent Night, Jeanine Tesori’s The Lion, the Unicorn, and Me, and the 2019 WNO Opera Gala Concert. He will also return to Des Moines Metro Opera as Associate Conductor for Berg’s Wozzeck.

For the 2017/2018 season, Breid appeared as Guest Conductor with the Omaha Symphony, Orchestra Seattle/Seattle Chamber Singers, Minnesota Opera, Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra, and UNO’s Chamber Orchestra, in addition to serving as Cover Conductor for Washington National Opera’s The Little Prince and North Carolina Opera’s Samson et Dalila.

Previously, Breid served a four-season tenure as Assistant/Cover Conductor for Minnesota Opera where he collaborated on twenty productions, including the world-premieres of Silent Night, The Manchurian CandidateDoubt, and The Dream of Valentino. He conducted over a dozen performances of TurandotCarmen, and Die Zauberflöte - a Komische Oper Berlin production the Star Tribune heralded as the “…embodiment of classical clarity.”

Past seasons have seen Breid collaborate in productions with San Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Central City Opera, Sarasota Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Brevard Music Festival; symphony highlights have included performances with Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Seattle/Seattle Chamber Singers, Ithaca College Orchestra, Heartland Philharmonic, UNO Chamber Orchestra, Ocala Symphony, Golden Valley Symphony, Edina Chorale and Orchestra, and collaborations with Charlotte Symphony and Omaha Symphony. Mo. Breid is an alumnus of the prestigious Pierre Monteux School for Conductors.
